I live in Devon (England) and started collecting in 1990. My hobby is the Gramophones themselves not so much the Accessories.Having built up quite a Collection of varied Gramophone Accessories, for example Record Cleaning Pads, Needle cutters and sharpeners, record speed testers and much more. I have decided to sell them - You can't collect everything.
It takes time to obtain quality items by continually replacing and only keeping the best examples.

The HMV No.4 Soundbox

Electrically recorded records with their better frequency response were introduced into the UK in 1925. In October that year HMV produced a new Soundbox. The No. 4 which was designed to play both the electrically recorded records and enhance the sound from the old acoustically recorded records. The No. 4 Soundbox was an excellent Soundbox which was in use until 1931.
The Soundbox has been rebuilt by a specialist Soundbox Engineer. He has replaced the diaphragm and rubber diaphragm gaskets ready for another 80 years of service. The nickel plating as with the whole Soundbox is in very good condition.

These Cardboard Gramophone Needle Tin Containers are rare because the tins would have been removed and the Cardboard container thrown away. The Containers held 5 Gramophone Needle tins with a total of 1000 Gramophone Needles.
