not so much the Needle Tins & Accessories.

1937 Coronation Medal
(Accessory 104)
The excellent definitive book "The Collectors Guide to "His Master's Voice Nipper Souvenirs" by Ruth Edge & Leonard Petts describes the Coronation Medal along with two pictures on page 52.
Extract from Book:-
The Gramophone Company's 1937 Coronation Medal was manufactured by Mappin & Webb of Oxford Street, London.
The face of the Medal shows the heads of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth. The reverse records that the Medal was issued to commemorate the dealer's association with the Company during the Coronation year of 1937. Each Medal was supplied in a cardboard box, covered with dark blue leatherette paper, the Medal resting in a nest of blue velvet.
We originally thought that the Medal was made of silver however it carries no hallmark and tests have shown that
it is in fact made of a low density metal, probably some sort of zinc alloy.
During reconstruction work at the old premises of C.R. Spouge and Company of 11/12 Cornhill, Lincoln, the Silver Shield shown in the book was discovered in the roof area. An extensive search in the EMI Archive has failed to reveal the details of its issue. It would appear that both the Shield and the Medallion
shown in illustrations were presented to each Gramophone Company dealer in Britain during the Coronation year of 1937. If this is the case it would mean that some 3000-4000 of these desirable souvenirs should be awaiting discovery by eager collectors.
Approximate Dimensions 1.5" (3.75cm) diameter X 1/8" (3mm) thick.
Please see the photographs of both sides.

CATALOGUE OF PAILLARD / MAESTROPHONE GRAMOPHONES
(Identify that unknown make of Horn Gramophone)
(Accessory 110)
This is a copy by the City of London Phonograph & Gramophone Society of the Paillard Company (Switzerland) Catalogue
It is undated, but judging by the models shown it dates from the 1910's?
Do you want to identify that unknown Horn Gramophone?
Paillard were one of the main Exporters to Europe and especially the UK of quality but low cost Gramophones and Parts.
The Company provided exactly what the Importer wanted.
Gramophones could be imported without any identification or identified with the Importers specification.
Even the Soundbox (part that holds the needle) could be provided with any required identification.
This is why so many Horn Gramophones can be found without identification or an unknown name
(For instance the Shop Name that sold the Gramophone)
This Catalogue is of Paillard's Maestrophone range of Gramophones.
Because the Gramophones were not identified as Maestrophone this name is virtually unheard of here in the UK.
The Catalogue contains pictures and descriptions of about 70 Mainly Horn Gramophone Models;
(Hopefully you can identify that unknown Horn Gramophone from this Catalogue)
Gramophone descriptions in English, French & German.
Page size is approximately 24cm X 18cm (9.5" X 7.5")
Approximately 70 pages
Printed in black and white.
The original printing quality in this 100 year old Catalogue was poor.
This copy of about 40 years ago by the CLPGS is in very good condition,
but as with the original 100 year old Catalogue
print quality falls far short of modern day laser digital printing standards.
